Life gets hectic! That may be an understatement for some. Isn’t a tidy and organized home what we all want? Yet maintaining one can be a huge struggle. Sometimes it just takes too much time to put something back exactly where it belongs. Maybe you’re on your way out the door and you notice toys that are still strewn about the living room. Or you brought in an armload of things from the car and before you could disperse everything to its designated spaces, you had to drop everything and feed your baby, or run to the bathroom, take a phone call, or simply just sit down to catch your breath after a busy day. I get it. Life happens!
That’s why it’s a really good idea for every household to have a “Catch All Basket” (or Bin). This basically is a container that you don’t mind being out in a central convenient location in your house. I keep a basket with handles in our entryway. It’s cute and decorative enough that it looks like it belongs there, yet it serves the exact purpose that I need it to serve. It catches my daily clutter when my life gets hectic! But be forewarned, these can be very dangerous if you do not follow this one simple rule: empty it and put everything away daily. The idea of the “Catch All Basket” is not to completely ignore the task of putting things in their place, but to simply postpone it until you have a few minutes to spare!
